Last night, Governor Abbott announced a bold and long-awaited plan for the next legislative session: a sweeping property tax reform agenda that puts Texas taxpayers first. And we’re excited to share that Americans for Prosperity – Texas will be leading the statewide coalition to help make it a reality.
For years, Texans have called for a property tax system that works for them, one that is simple, responsible, sustainable, and that won’t tax them out of their home. Over the summer and fall, we helped launch a major effort empowering voters at city halls, school boards, and commissioner’s courts to demand smarter spending and relief from rising taxes. Texans showed up, spoke out, and made it clear that the status quo isn’t working.
Now, we’re taking that momentum to the next level.
Just as we did in the historic fight for school choice in Texas, we are mobilizing the grassroots army that changed the game in Texas politics. We will bring that same energy, strategy, and statewide engagement to advance the Governor’s property tax reform plan – from the 2026 elections to the 90th Legislative Session in 2027.This is the next big fight for freedom and opportunity in Texas. And with your help, we’re ready to win it.
