3/11: 500 500 AFP-TX/LIBRE Activists Rally at State Capitol for Education Freedom

AUSTIN, TX – Americans for Prosperity-Texas (AFP-TX) and its sister organization, The LIBRE Initiative, will mobilize nearly 500 activists and volunteers to Austin on Tuesday as a show of force in support of legislation creating Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) as it’s heard in committee. 

AFP-TX State Director Genevieve Collins and LIBRE President Daniel Garza will give brief remarks to grassroots activists in the Capitol Rotunda before they go to testify at the House Committee on Public Education hearing and meet with lawmakers in support of H.B.3. 

Following their remarks, Collins and Garza will hold time for questions from members of the media.

Why: The Texas Legislature and Governor Abbott are on the brink of approving historic legislation to create Education Saving Accounts (ESAs) that will give millions of Texan families the ability to customize their children’s education.

As the largest grassroots organizations in the state, AFP-TX and LIBRE have the unique ability to connect lawmakers with hundreds of families and students from across Texas who support universal school choice.
