Hooks, TX – Americans for Prosperity – Texas (AFP-TX) continued its statewide Freedom Unleashed Tour Thursday evening at Ramage Farms in Hooks, bringing together local residents, activists, and community leaders for an energizing conversation on how Texans can build on this year’s historic policy victories and prepare for the next phase of reform.
The event featured State Senator Bryan Hughes, who joined AFP-Texas’s team of trusted policy advisors to celebrate the 89th Legislative Session’s wins and to mobilize grassroots supporters behind Governor Greg Abbott’s newly unveiled property tax reform plan. The discussion focused on how those reforms will continue to deliver relief for hardworking Texans and drive lasting prosperity across the state.
“Having a great time in Hooks and Bowie County…. with a huge crowd of people who love their state, love their country. We’re talking about property taxes and what we can do to get those under control,” said Senator Hughes.

AFP-Texas activists emphasized that the organization is fully committed to supporting the Governor’s bold plan and ensuring lawmakers hear directly from Texans who are ready for lasting, structural tax relief. The Freedom Unleashed Tour is a key part of that effort: educating and equipping citizens to make their voices heard in shaping policies that expand opportunity and limit government overreach.
“Tonight’s event celebrated a truly historic legislative session, but it also looked ahead,” said AFP-Texas Communications Director James Mayville. “AFP-Texas is proud to strongly support the Governor’s new property tax reform plan. Texans deserve to keep more of what they earn, and our grassroots army is already mobilizing to make that a reality. Together, we’re ensuring the Lone Star State remains a model for freedom and opportunity.”
The Freedom Unleashed Tour continues across Texas, engaging citizens in communities large and small and calling them to action in support of property tax reform.
