Additional paid parking is available in nearby downtown garages and surface lots. \nWhat to Expect\nPlease meet the AFP group at 8:30 a.m. outside the Council Chambers. We will enter together before the meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. \nDuring the presentation\, our role will be to observe\, listen\, and learn about the proposed FY 2027 Budget. The city’s answer is a 3.2-cent increase in the property tax rate\, bringing it to 70.2 cents per $100 of value\, plus 51 eliminated positions and 91 more left frozen. \nThat is the headline. Almost nobody can tell you how the city got there. \nCome find out. We are walking through Fort Worth’s actual spending\, in plain language\, with the city’s own numbers on the screen. Where does the general fund go? What grew fastest over the last five years\, and what got squeezed to pay for it? Which parts of the $94 million gap trace to specific decisions the council made\, including $46.2 million in new public safety and personnel costs\, $14 million in health care increases\, and pay raises of 8.5 percent for firefighters and 6 percent for police.
