DESCRIPTION:Let your voice be heard!\nFort Worth’s council votes on the FY2027 budget and a proposed tax rate increase on September 15. Residents get two minutes each at the microphone. Most people waste them. \nAaron James sits on the White Settlement City Council\, which means he has spent the last several months on the receiving end of public comment. He knows which two minutes change a council member’s thinking and which ones get tuned out before the timer hits thirty seconds. He is teaching this workshop so Fort Worth residents show up on the 15th with something council cannot dismiss. \nYou will leave with a written comment in hand. We will work through how to open so people look up\, how to use one specific number instead of five vague ones\, how to make an ask council can actually act on\, and how to hold your ground under a hostile question without giving anyone a reason to stop listening. Respect is not a formality here. It is the thing that keeps you credible when you are telling eleven elected officials they are wrong. \nDinner is on us\, courtesy of Americans for Prosperity.
